About the Preserve

The Parry Game Preserve was founded with several goals in mind. On one hand it is to serve as a virtual museum for the collection, since in actual physical space there is just not, yet, enough room to properly display even a reasonable portion of the collection at once. While it is still a thin substitute for the real thing, it joins nicely with the other driving goal of the Preserve.

Something that we talk about here a lot is, as the name would indicate, 'Preserving'. I have a great interest in trying to prevent cool things from the (still recent) past from being lost. It is amazing to me that only 20 years later, some great toy lines, like Computer Warriors and X-Panders have been all but forgotten. That the Preserve is the top hit for these series on-line gives me hope that we are succeeding in our goals at least a bit.

There is still a sizable percentage of the existing Preserve collection which has yet to see the digital light of day; a percentage I'd have to estimate around 70% or higher! That certainly means that we never get bored around here, though it is at times overwhelming. In a given week my greatest hope is that I can bring you some examples of older toys, some discussion about current price trends, and if Hasbro has been doing their job, an example of something new and cool that just came out recently. To say that I'm passionate about this subject is an understatement, and I hope that I can provide a service of interest and use to the visitors to this site.
