Credited by Joel of MST3K fame as being the early inspiration for what would grow into his beloved movie riffing stranded-in-space brainchild, this film follows the struggle of Bruce Dern and his robots in space. The effects and pacing are all fantastic, and the subject matter of a botanist fighting to protect the last shred of the natural world is both heady and understandable. Dern does a great job of leading us down his path of desperation and eventual acceptance, with his robot friends being the unwitting heroes of the story.
