NY Comic Con 2008 day 1
Well faithful Preserve readers, the first day of New York Comic Con is under our belts, and it was really a spectacular time! It seems that the attendance of the Friday events is well under the numbers that are seen on Saturday, so as a word of wisdom to potential future attendees, it is well worth making the post-work trip out to see some fantastic panels, great dealer values, and if you're lucky, a Q&A with X-Files creator Chris Carter, talking about the upcoming X-Files movie! One of the incredible highlights of the day was the 'Legends' panel, which the show really kicked off with at 3pm once the 'professional hours' were over and the general public was allowed in. This panel featured the top names from the last 60 years of comics - basically back to the founding of the medium as we know it. As the show organizers stressed, this is a gathering that will likely never happen again, and those of us in attendance were lucky and fortunate to have witnessed such a great confluence of minds at one time.
