Kilkenny - by Louis L'Amour
Another fun l'amour novel. however, I feel that he maybe phoned this one in a little. While it still contained
the elements of herosim, manliness, gun skill and the beauty of the natural landscape, I felt that he cut some
corners on descriptions here and there, and things were a little rushed. Heck, writing over 100
books, that'll happen! It was still fun to get another story to add to the story of Kilkenny, but I
was tricked in finding out that this was not Kilkenny #1 but in fact #3 in the series! turns out I
need to find The Rider of Lost Creek - go figure!
We do get some good character development with Lance, and he ends up getting the girl! Spoiler! And
beating the bad guys! Spoiler! Always worth a quick read to get a flavor of the west, in a way that
few others can deliver.
