All the Light We Cannot See, by
A beautiful and sad book, as so many are which deal with the events of WWII. It started off so strongly, though I felt the middle 250 or so pages descended into a slog through the atrocities of war, as seen from two perspectives. Doerr is very skilled at generating my empathy for the characters, and I truly found myself caring for the assorted plights that faced them, and loving the father daughter bond which was so thoughtfully portrayed. A read that anyone with a tolerance for wartime literature will probably enjoy greatly, and not particularly heavy or grim, just realistically tough.
