Venus - by Ben Bova
Bova is a big name in the Sci-Fi genre, and this is the first book
of his that I've read. While it is long, and full of some decent hard
science about space travel and planetary science, I was somewhat surprised
at the lightness of character development. You spend a lot of time
in a cramped ship with these folks, but even when main characters are,
shall we say, redacted, the impact is a little light due to how little
we have connected with them.
Overall, an interesting introduction to Bova, but I suspect some of his older
works may carry more of a punch.
