Welcome to the New York Comic Con, 2011!

Hasbro: Star Wars

It seems that next year is a big anniversary for 'Episode I' - seen by many to be the weakest link
in the beloved franchise. More power to Hasbro, though, for sticking to their guns and really embracing
this latest chance to re-brand and re-market their fan-favorite figures. This time we see that Darth Maul
is the focus, and his head will appear on just about every product out the door for 2012. I hope that
means Ray Park is getting some serious kick backs!
I also admit to being more intrigued than I expected to be by their new 'battling' segment called
"Fighter Pods". The game play, as shown in the sizzle video we all got to see in the panel, is sort of strange
and I'm not sure how it will work in practice, but the idea that there are 120 of these super-mini figures -
all sculped by the same person apparently! - makes it have this neat 'M.U.S.C.L.E.' feel to it. Hard to fully
write that off, huh? Oh, and mini vehicles definitely make this segment one not to ignore!
