From the first wave of the new GI Joe Modern Era vehicles.

Vehicle: Armadillo Tank vs. Serpentor's Air Chariot

Included Figures
  • Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski
  • Serpentor

Vehicle Info: An ARMADILLO TANK tank driven by Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski heads into a surface-to-air battle with SERPENTOR'S AIR CHARIOT. The G.I. JOE tank is rocked by a missile attack from the COBRA emperor's hover vehicle, then Steeler aims the tank's twin cannons at the flying menace and returns fire!

File Cards:
Code Name: Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski
FILE NAME: Pulaski, Ralph W.
BIRTHPLACE: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
SN: 035-38-RW98

Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski comes from a blue-collar middle-class background. He put himself through college on an ROTC scholarship and by working as a heavy equipment operator. He entered Armor school at Fort Knox, graduating at the top of his class. One of the first to join the G.I. JOE team, he has taken part in countless operations against the COBRA organization. He drives one of the G.I. JOE team's ARMADILLO TANKS, pushing the vehicle to its limit as he tears his way through an onslaught of COBRA tanks with turbojet engines firing hot and cannons blazing.

"What some people call 'reckless' is me just making absolutely sure the other guy knows exactly where he stands: you lose COBRA!"

WEAPONS: Cluster cannons

ARMADILLO TANKS are used by the G.I. JOE team as assault vehicles in close-quarters areas like cities. They are built for speed and maneuverability, when brawn and power are less important than flexible, fast-strike capability. Twin cluster cannons are mounted on a central turret, and the specialized tracks can advance over any surface. The G.I. JOE team first deployed the tanks during the battle at the Arbco Bros. Circus, one of the fronts for the nefarious activities of the CRIMSON GUARD.

A secret cabal of COBRA scientists, under the direction of THE INTERROGATOR and DESTRO, combed the tombs, sarcophagi and relics of the great despots of history to find cells with DNA traces. From these long-dead genetic blueprints they produced a composite clone with the military genius of Napoleon, the ruthlessness of Julius Caesar, the daring of Hannibal, and the fiscal acumen of Attila the Hun...the ultimate COBRA Emperor! A master of political intrigue and a brilliant tactician, he is capable of wresting power from COBRA COMMANDER. Fortunately for the GI JOE team, the COBRA Emperor's own ambitions were not taken into consideration by his creators.

"His eyes have seen the legions of Rome trample the Gauls and Nervii into the dust. His hand lifted the horsehair baton that signaled the first charge of the Carthaginian armored elephant phalanx. His ears have heard the rattle of French cuirassiers on the streets of Moscow. But it is his mind we must fear the most. The thoughts of the COBRA Emperor have not drifted from global conquest since the reign of King Solomon."

DESIGNATION: Hover vehicle
WEAPONS: Attack guns

This single-operator vehicle was created by DR. MINDBENDER for the COBRA emperor, SERPENTOR. It is armed with twin "Strike" attack guns and has a cobra headed design that includes armor-piercing fangs. Small and lightweight, it hovers above the ground and is easy to maneuver, making it a difficult vehicle to target. It's the ideal vehicle for a military commander like SERPENTOR, who leads troops personally into battle - it gives him visibilty, maneuverability and presence when attacking and overwhelming the G.I. JOE team.
